EDUCATION FELLOWS

The ECE/EDU Program, open to all students, provides a

rewarding, supported academic learning experience for those

interested in a teaching career in Education. Students may

select from two pathways:

Career Advancement Academy

CAC provides a guided pathway that includes introductory

courses in Early Childhood Education (ECE) delivered via both

on-campus and fully online formats, linked courses in English

and Counseling, a designated counselor and select mentors.

Courses in this path have a section designator of CAC.

Teacher Education

TE offers courses in conjunction with hands-on experience

at Skyline College’s Child Development Learning Center

(CDLC). Students may select a schedule that includes M/W

on-campus ECE/EDU courses partnered with T/Th morning

Internship hours at the CDLC, or T/Th courses with M/W

morning Internships. Courses in this path have a section

designator of TE.

Both the Career Advancement Academy (CAC) and Teacher

Education (TE) pathways include a one-unit course, ECE. 331 –

The Role of the Teacher. All students benefit from guaranteed

course admission, textbook support, CA Permit application

assistance, professional growth opportunities and events, and

individualized advising and support. Upon completion of the

one semester pathway, students are eligible to apply for the

California Assistant Teacher Permit.
